I would love to see how your implementation of a vacuum to retain the ball works and how it performs. We didn't have great luck with ours and scrapped it Saturday for a roller design.

Its not symmetrical, its not balanced.

MattThis is for a vacuum system, but this is the second time team 1212 has used vacuum to pick things up. Back in 2004 team 1212 used this identical setup to pick up the big yellow ball and place it on a goal. With this motor and vacuum mechanism it will easily handle the soccer ball.

I was, but if you zoom in it looks more like a wing nut or mangled piece of aluminium than impeller vanes.

Look to the left of the nut. That's too even to be mangled aluminum, and too big to be a wing nut.
