iCurtis (0000)

I spend my summers at the Owls Head Transportation Museum (www.ohtm.org), organizing a car auction on the weekdays, and pushing airplanes for airshows on the weekend.

This is an original Curtiss JN-4 "Jenny." They were built as trainers for American pilots during WW1, but they built significantly more than they needed, so at the wars end they were sold by the Army to civilians for as little as $200 for the airframe (A Ford Model T cost around $450). This is an original example with an original Curtiss OX-5 V8 engine. Pretty neat stuff, though she takes a looooong time to get off the ground on a hot day!
