Compressor Size Comparison 4

The new viair 090c is really tiny. Additional tests will be done tomorrow when we get fans to cool it (it gets REALLY hot).

that would appear to be a 095c, the mounts on our 090 are different.

I think so, it looks like all the specs are the same.

oops yeah it is a 095c, but i thought we ordered the other one. And apparently the only difference is the mounting tabs. I will have more pics tomorrow (we got it mounted to our e-board today). We also are using a 80mm pc fan to cool it because it gets hot fast and really holds the heat.

Not on your robot, you aren't. (Unless the fan is attached to a computer....) The 40 mm and 120 mm fans provided in the KOP are allowed.

Well i guess we'll be switching that to a 120mm then...
We kept having an argument over using the 120 or the 40, so I brought in a 2pin 80mm fan as a happy medium but if we cant use it then we'll probably switch to the 120.

No need to put a fan on the compressor for competition use it is designed to take the heat. It's native environment is under a vehicle hood which can reach an "ambient" temp of ~200 degrees and it's 9% duty cycle and max run time of 3 minutes was developed for long term longevity (many years) operating in that environment. Of much bigger concern is the fact that you removed the factory installed check valve. You need to remove your manifold and install it after the check valve. That will allow it to release some of it's head pressure internally to reduce the start up load. Running it w/o the check valve voids it's warranty.
