Go to Post Or you could go to the Waterloo or Greater Toronto regional, walk up to anyone in their pit, and ask. You may end up feeling like you asked for a sip of water and ended up soaked by a fire hose, but you won't walk away disappointed. - Richard Wallace [more]

The Franken-Box

While doing some final tweaking on our prototype we came across the need to have a fisher price on a worm gear. We decided to tear apart a '08 keyang window motor and coupled the output shaft of the planetary to the input shaft of the window motor.

Our question now is if this is legal? We plan to put it up on the Q&A but we figured if we could get the window motor off the shelf it would be legal but who knows.

As long as the keyang is still commercially available I don't see why it would be illegal.

This is a great job of adapting a gearbox, congrats!
