Go to Post For me, this is the most powerful message of FIRST, that people can come together and work together to achieve so much, and leave old rivalries, grudges, and hard feelings behind. When people talk about culture change, this is what I hope for. - Aren Siekmeier [more]

I am proud of this years work ethic, but we still have a lot of work to do! Hopefully we can see our hard work pay off!

Commenting on your own team's robot praising it multiple times using many accounts... Classy

Regardless, I do like this robot, except for the drivetrain.(mechanum)

Eh, I like the whole thing. But I guess there is a slight bias there.
All parts of the robot function very well, but we will see the true 'bot in LA.

You're not going to generate positive "buzz" or positive attention for your team if your own team members repeatedly post about how awesome it is. No one's falling for it.

Well yeah, me too.
We were planning on going with swerve drive but due to manufacturing delays, we ended up having to use our backup robot instead of our swerve robot. Who knows we may still try swerve, but probably for offseason competitions. The modules are easy enough to mount we may be able to perfect it during the time between now and LA and possibly bring it in as part of the withholding allowance. However we probably won't.

I don't think anyone takes it that seriously. Sorry if his little joke offended you. Its not like any harm was done by it.

I apologize for the immaturity of certain posts For the most part the comments have been edited and I certainly hope this kind of thing doesn't happen again. However we are very proud of our robot this year and I have some amount of “specs” if any one is interested.

Max length and with and 58 inches tall at around 90 pounds (without mini-bot deployment system)
Mecanum drive with “independent suspension” on all four wheels (just a bunch of springs)
Claw can reach all levels including floor

I do think this robot looks really good! I agree that having team members praise their own design doesn't create a buzz; however, that's not reason to be turned off to the team and robot either!

Your robot does look/sound like it has the potential to be very competitive! Although I don't think it's really that significant in this game, suspension's always seem rather neat! I'm sure your team has put a phenomenal amount of work into your design - it seems like people are quite busy finishing up their own robots, perhaps why you haven't seen more posts...

I hope your team enjoys competing at the LA regional! :-)
