1st grade art class inspired by robots
FIRST may not have lead me to become an engineer or scientist, but it did inspire me to become an art teacher. I used the FIRST Robots Behind the Design Aim High book in a recent lesson for the students to get an idea of how robots can serve similar purposes but still look very different from one another. They were so excited by the photos and CAD drawings in this book! The students had to turn a square into at least 3 different shapes and create a robot with the shapes. This student designed a robot to throw balls to him so he could play catch without his brother.
