Go to Post Dean's said it before, and it's been repeated many times, but it clearly hasn't sunk in yet, so I'll say really loudly. FIRST is not a science fair! - Karthik [more]

UA Architecture 3D Concrete Printer

This is the printer itself; it was designed by a recent graduate student of the College of Architecture and I've been assigned to complete it. It features MakerBot electronics and three NEMA23 250oz-in stepper motors (two of which will be replaced by the accompanying DC servo setup featuring CIMs). We recently purchased a pinch-tube valve to prevent clogging and messiness - pop on a 6" or so piece of tubing and throw it away when done. Currently we're looking for funding for equipment, such as a pump, although a local company has agreed to let us develop the system with one of theirs.
