234 Mini Robot - Details

This is our Mini Robot that was built for the MathAlive display at the Smithsonian. It is about 1/3 scale and a very close replica of our 2011 Competition Robot.

Does it function in anyway? It looks so detailed even in the wiring I can't tell if it an display model or not.

This is awesome. I love the use of the different colors of anodized aluminum and the re-purposing of timing belt pulleys as wheels and cross-hex tube for victor fans. The use of real wires and ring terminals adds that extra realism that makes it seem like it is ready to play, The scale logos and bumper numbers also help by taking away the 'blank stare' that an unmarked robot would have and gives it personality.

It moves and rolls, but is not powered. All of the "systems" are anodized aluminum. The "fans" on the victors do spin.

This mini version is about a 1/3 scale model. We tried to simulate all of the main systems and they are color coded for power, electronics, pneumatics, etc. and there is a display card that goes with the robot to explain the systems. There is another display card that explains our team.

This is part of the "MathAlive!" exhibit at the Smithsonian. We worked on this build last fall with an agreement to not disclose our work until the exhibit opened.

We are excited to represent FIRST and support Raytheon and our major sponsors in this exhibit.

We have some alumni in the DC area who are goint to take pictures of the actual exhibit so we can post them.
