So for those of you that don't know yet Team 3647 is pretty much building an new robot for our off season competitions. We are just about done with the robot, the only thing missing is an final design for the bridge manipulator.
This was the first weigh in and well to even my surprise according to the scale we are under 80lbs... Dang do I wish all our robots could be this light... Tho this is the one year we will probably be adding weight to make the robot balance better....

This robot is so scary that you call revealing it unnerving? Anyway, if you could get full functionality with such a light robot, why didn't other teams do it? The lightest team I remember seeing were the Space Cookies, at about 90lbs. They didn't have the most functional robot, and 10 lbs is a lot to lose to get to 80. Just a little skeptical, not trying to criticize.

Mk.32There was a lot of things we learned and redid on this robot, which is probably the reason for the much lower weight. As well as taking some more time to look at the designs and figure out where we can cut weight and make a lighter frame.
However it kinda sucks that this year is one of the few years you want a robot near the 120lbs limit... xD

DBortnickAwesome, I'm interested to see the design.
Can I ask: what kind of scale do you use to weigh your robot?
Edit*** Sorry I'm having a dumb moment. The model of the scale is clearly visible in the picture.

I remember my senior year on 116 we set our robot on the inspection scale without removing the battery. As we were setting it down, the inspector pointed mentioned that fact out to us, then turned to read the scale and said "never mind." We were barely over 100 lbs with the battery in. We took it out anyway just to get a proper reading on a competition scale.
