Quadcopter

Well seeing the post of the combat robot gave me to post my own idea of pre-kick off fun.

This is the 2nd quad I have built and is much improved over the first one. With a load capacity of about 8lbs, I use it to carry my goPRO around to get aerial footage.

Very cool! I have been working on my own quadcopter for some time now. It's forced me to to learn how to solder properly, amongst other things. 8lbs load capacity sounds like a lot, what's the Kv rating of your motors? Awesome work!

I misspoke, I mean 8lbs lifting capacity which included the weight of the copter which is about 3lbs. The motors are 380watt NTNs, 1100kv.

The controller is an Ardunio based controller called KK2 from hobbyking. It's a veryyy nice controller for $25 and as self level.

A group of college students @ SLU have built a quad-copter and their hope is to get their design shared with K-12 schools.....
