Pharaoh Jank Climbs His Pyramid #robosplosion #8footdrop

One of our Prototypes was able to hold and pull its self up the tower. With human interaction, the concept was still proven to work. We have decided to move on to a more advanced design to climb, I am sorry you won't be able to see This Pharaoh at competition. Check out that 2x4 Drive Train.

Are you going to release any video of how you accomplished this mighty feat?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like there are two giant pneumatic cylinders (one on each side) with hooks on them, that I'm guessing alternate to climb up the corner. They seem to pivot, pushed up and down by smaller cylinders. It looks like there's another pneumatic cylinder at the top that serves as a clamp, which I'm guessing is to clamp onto the corners where the horizontal bars meet. There's probably some alignment guide on the front that we can't see. Additionally, there seems to be a belay device attached, just so it doesn't fall.

Close, but not quite. They are actually telescoping paint rollers that we have literally taped to pneumatic cylinders. The paint rollers have a staged extension which are actuated by pneumatics.

These to be exact

I like how the pneumatics circuit is just dangling out of the side of the robot XD Do you have a video or something of how it works?

Ill work on a video of when its lifting. The one I have is super long because we got to level two and thought of getting the robot down form the third, so we stopped climbing and put together the pulley system and actually left the camera running. Ill see if I can post the best part of the video. It was taken with a phone. It may not be the best quality.
