Senator Barbara Mikulski visits the 2013 Chesapeake
Senator Barbara Mikulski spent more than 2 hours visiting the 2013 Chesapeake Regional. She visited the pits, the NASA machine shop, watched games, talked to Jr.FLL, FLL, FTC and FRC teams, and asked a lot of questions. She also talked with the AmeriCorps-NCCC team working at the event. She is a huge supporter of volunteerism and national service, access to quality education, NASA funding, and STEM initiatives. She is the first Marylander and the first woman to serve as Chairwoman of the Senate Appropriations Committee. We were honored.
