Now, this begs the question: Why??

What prompted you to need the extra shifting force?

My guess is to release the system under load. They said it was for their winch.

our winch pulley was under so much tension that at 60psi the pancake didn't have enough force to disengage the clutch, so when we upped our regulator to 80psi, that was plenty. So our solution was to simply add another cylinder.

Got it.

It would be interesting to disassemble the shifter after the season and see how the internals held up after the season is over.
