This is the strategy board we'll be using for the 2014 season. With this board, a team is assigned a shape and a role. That way, it's easier to strategize without marking up the field with actual team numbers. It also makes it easier to define what a team is actually doing on the board with the team roles. We also have a list of team roles with an abbreviation system so if a team has more than one role, we have the space to write all the abbreviations. If your team would like us to send you a strategy board that isn't watermarked just PM me.
We just watermarked the image so they wouldn't be sold.

Interesting idea using shapes instead of team numbers. On my team's strategy mats, we just assign team numbers to the number of the alliance station that they're in. So instead of using shapes, we just use 1 2 3 instead. I like using numbers since teams already know their operator station number in queuing, and they don't have to remember a shape, but I definitely think that any way to avoid writing full team numbers on the field diagram is a great idea! It's all about efficiently communicating strategies. My team also has pre planned plays for defense and offense so we don't have to draw the same strategies over and over again. Does your team do that too?
