It is! We have two carbon fiber tubes on our shooter.

Specs!
  • Dimensions: 27.5" square. Weight. Approx 99lbs.
  • 6wd Single speed, Single reduction, 4" VexPro wheels. 2 CIM's per side.
  • Top speed: Fast (no measured information yet)
  • Intake Rollers are 2.5" ABS pipe wrapped in "Acoustic Foam" Powered by a bag motor and a 20:1 Versa Planetary
  • Catapult is powered by a gas spring through #35 roller chain
  • Catapult arm is 1x2 1/8th wall tubing. With 2 Carbon fiber "guide rails"
  • No Pneumatics
  • Catapault is loaded by a RS775-18 and released by a PG71
  • Electronics "Belly pan" is made of 3/8" thick Foam core carbon and fiberglass composite.

A bit. This is the first time our team has built a fully offensive bot. I'll take the maneuverability over the pushing power any day.

Our entire robot minus the electrical board is under 45 pounds. I predict we'll be seeing a lot of light 'bots this year.
