Finally made a gearbox. The output shaft is messed up, it's missing some bolts (I think my autofastner feature in SolidWorks is messed up; can someone help?), and it's missing three shaft rings. Overall I think it is a decent job.
Some specs:
about 6.75 lb with motors
As always feedback is appreciated.

9.17 spread

Looks great, though I think you can easily turn it into a shifter.

Did you mean overall reduction?
Spread is the ratio between the low/high reductions on a two-speed gearbox. 9.17 would be a horrible spread for a drive gearbox. It would leave you with a low too low to use, and an unusable high speed. This is isn't a shifter, is it? (Don't have the ability to open the CAD right now...) |
