Interesting. 4 cim gearbox, but it would be hard to hang over the wheels. Would you put it paralle to the sides?
Also, how does it work?

Where do I get the transparent CIMS? Also, do they come in silver instead of gold?

Nice render though-- is the open port in the back the output?

Beautiful, Solidworks is a majestic beast of the highest degree. I vote solid gold though.

Ignoring the cost/stability issues of a solid gold robot it has lots of pros

Imagine how easy it would be to market to other teams.

"If you pick us, you can have a gearbox"

Seriously though, this looks GREAT for a render! How long did it take?

Thank you for the compliments all but,
Actually I will have to give credit for the CAD to my team mate Scott (whos last name escapes me atm) awesome dude btw . He was teaching our younger members how to use solidworks and whipped something quick up. So... I sneaked on while he wasn't paying attention had a little fun (Solid works gray gets a little boring) Although the "neon green" didn't work as planned....

Rendering Took about 5 minutes (Photoview 360) we have dell optiplexes Core 2 Duos 3.0Ghz(?)

As for the gearbox it wasn't designed for a drive train rather for a winch. (It was more of demonstration of how to begin to use solidworks the actual gear box is currently being modeled by our younger members)

I really want to just hop on mcmaster carr get some polycarb, and some brass. Could totally go for some steam punk cims now :')

If your reading this scott, hope your not mad

It looks like and I'm hoping those two plates are identical and one is just rotated 180 degrees to make this gearbox work. If so that's really cool. I don't know if 8 motor drives are ever necessary / a good idea, but this design is a cool way to implement 4 motors. Perhaps for a 4 CIM / 4 Mini or 4 CIM / 4 550 drive.

I remember a team this year (4034) who's shooter was powered by 4 miniCIMs and so was team 58's.
