Looks great! How deep of a cut do you take out?

Bryce PaputaOne eighth of an inch on both sides, FEA said that we could go down to half of the thickness that we did and still be strong enough.

ice.bergCurious as to why only one dog gear has been machined? Quality issues?

Chris is meMy concern wouldn't be the amount you took out of the middle section (I bet you could even go to 1/8" thick there if you really wanted to live on the edge), but how little material you left around the hex hub. There are parts where the corner of the hex appears to be less than 1/16" from the edge of the material, and that's really concerning to me. Would hate to see a stress fracture there. I know the little raised surface on the gear only extends out that far, but that part of the gear isn't sized that way for strength; it's sized that way to interact with bearing races.
This is more gut paranoia than actual analysis though; perhaps you'll be fine.
Other than that, looks great. Gear lightening is an often overlooked way to save some pounds.

ice.bergHOLY PICTURES BATMAN!
But I dig the design. Looks like a PTO from what I can make out for some intake/lift device. Looks solid!
