Team 5137-Iron Kodiaks

Introducing our 2nd year Robot our follow-up to our San Diego Rookie All-Star campaign last season. We are trying out best to get back to St. Louis Championships this time as alliance Winners! We learned a lot last season in design ,necessary build quality and what it takes to compete at a Top Level in 2015. We feel we have done just that with this robot. I love watching it go.

Here are our second year design imperatives that were met in testing below.....

Check out our Varsam2015 reveal video here.....
http://youtu.be/nmPpe_ZzDPY

"Varsam Utrotningsmedel" is a most versatile FRC robot who was built specifically to compete at the highest levels in FRC 2015 Recycle Rush gameplay!

Features: Speed and maneuverability designed with 6 wheel 6" Omni-Wheel drive in H arrangement with two center wheels having a fully independent suspension.

Comfortably and quickly tops any sized stack with RC with our without totes under the RC up to a max 77.75" lift.

Controls any two totes that are lined up next to each other as in landfill both landfill pattern arrangements. Can pick up and control any single object in any position (sideways, angled or upside down)
Human load of noodle in RC friendly, can control tote slides exiting chute door...quick and easy chute door double stack
Several Autonomous moves to clear two or three objects in scoring zone (2 rc+1Tote) with other modes available. Any size stack is no problem and load is carried level with floor! Has both power when necessary and finesse when needed.

Built to be extremely versatile allowing it to fully and capably adapt to any game situation
Can easily cross ramps. Still effective scorer even without lift should we have any possible in-game lift malfunction (not likely..built specifically to be durable and stable under loads), Can probably move noodles if necessary too...hopefully perfecting that when we get to regional.

In all a "Very Effective Robot!" that aims to be a valuable "hold up its scoring end and more" alliance member every match. For other robots who are looking for an alliance member with extreme speed and versatility...We are up for the challenge. Equally adept at all these phases: Two tote control (landfill any side by side totes in either position), Human player (double stack and/or RC noodle load), Fast tote stacks and stack improves , Fast co-op 1,2 or 3 Gold Tote wall stack, not slowed by noodles or ramps. Good drivers and human players on team. Next stop... The San Diego Regional April 2-4 Valley View Center, see some of you there. Only limits are human ingenuity in driving it efficiently and without mistakes...the robot itself is sound...and very unique and that's exactly what we wanted to compete with this year.

great looking design expecially for a 2nd year team.

we had a really good first year back in 2001 made it to championship and were pickers, so for 2002 we went out and had very ambitious goals and ended up being way over weight by the time we finished, and ended up moving mostly everything but the frame. we were able to manage to make it to championship eliminaions again that year however....... moral of the story is not to bite off more then you can handle but it seems liek you got that covered pretty well great design.
