Why did your team dismantle that robot? I thoroughly enjoyed watching it (one of only a few)

Connor McBrideIt saddens me to see such a good New England robot disassembled.

SamcFuchsRIP. It was fun to play against you guys. Our robot is still fully intact, except for electricals. We had to reuse most of the components, so it's not going to run again. The tipping point was when we had to remove the PDP, and we couldn't convince the electrical guy to undo each connection, so we snipped off all the wires.
Nothing gold can stay.

ctt956Our 2014 competition 'bot was mostly disassembled, leaving the frame, drivetrain, and some electrical stuff. It just got further disassembled to the frame and drive motors, but we're rebuilding it into a practice 'bot. As for our 2012 robot, don't ask...

thatprogrammerYou still have that much of your robot left?!

kyle_hamblettKind of saddened to see that robot taken apart. The swerve drive was super silky and fun to watch. Ours is in a similar state, but turned into a chair...

cjl2625Well, we needed all the electronics, and I think we started ripping off parts for prototyping/building purposes. Recently, we took everything off the frame, and are now using the frame to test some Secret Things™

PretzelI remember lining up against you in the eliminations at championships with our can grabber. We were concerned enough about your can grabber beating ours that we put extra surgical tubing on our can grabber.
I mention this because the only time prior that we had put that much surgical tubing on our can grabber, we stripped out the two gears that operated the can grabber by ripping off 3 or more teeth on each gear. Your team was our first competition test with it and we were terrified it would happen again that way, but we were equally worried you would beat us if we didn't.

page2067We saw you guys as one of the top 3-or so grabbers on Galileo - clearly faster than us (we did improve after champs) .
Pleasure competing with you guys - hope to see you again.

SenorZWe did the same. With very limited storage we chose to keep a frisbee shooting robot and a yoga ball throwing robot assembled over a box stacking robot.
