Cool!

But will it roll like a Reliant Robin?

We're hoping not to find out.

Cool looking robot! Can't wait to see 525 at 10,000 lakes in person!

Considering the fact that more of the weight seems to be in the "front", you guys might experience the robot tilting sideways on occasion.

Edit: just saw the Omni wheels

The center of gravity is pretty low. The robot rocks a bit during a turn once in a while - but we don't have a lot of driving practice yet. Testing the CG statically, we can put the robot on its side bumper and nearly vertical and it still drops back to its wheels. It would take a lot of inertia to roll it (we expect.)

The omni wheels allow the ball pickup to roll on the ground while approaching a ball.

EDIT: I should add that the concept of "front" has been an issue all build season. The single wheel end looks like the front but in fact the double wheel end is the front.

Can't wait to see this robot in action tomorrow at the scrimmage! (Thanks for hosting us at the Iowa scrimmage each year!)
Very creative and interesting design as always! And knowing your team, effective is likely to be added to that list soon!

Thanks for the picture. Lot's of ?s. Can any of your arms be used for getting open the doors/gates? How many driven wheels do you have? Is that front wheel have any spring shocks? Looks like you have lots of room to add on. That is rare on 82.7% of FRC robots. Good Luck Mentor Mac

On the team version of the field, we can cross all the defenses rather easily except the Sally Port and Drawbridge. The arm at the two wheel end pushes down the CDF or raises the portcullis. The arm at the other end is for the ball intake. The single wheel is a giant swerve module. The dual wheels are each driven by 2 CIMS, the swerve wheel is driven by 2 mini CIMS. The robot is geared at about 12 ft/sec. Weight right now is at 110 lbs, so we have some room for changes.

Great solution to this year's game!! We will be watching to see how it performs, but, I think we will see you guys playing in late April. Can a tall robot block your shot from the "safe zone"?

Whoa! What do I call that drivetrain, a 3-wheeled semi-swerve?
Really cool.

No - we can flip the ball over a tall robot right in front of us. Getting into the right position is still a challenge. (We didn't have a lot of drive time before bag & tag.) To aim, we turn the swerve wheel sideways - this allows fine corrections. We also turn the swerve wheel sideways to park on the batter.

We're pretty happy with the way our 3 wheel robot performed. The biggest issue seemed to be a regulator that wouldn't hold consistent pressure. (We didn't see this issue on the practice bot.) The students replaced it once, but late in the competition the new regulator started acting up - the pressure drifts high.
