Since Q&A doesn't have an image upload option, I say start building!

You know what really grinds my gears? The field carpet.

It's almost like that was on purpose

Make sure to mount each wheel at 45 degree angles for that extra maneuverbillity.

Idk... I still feel like we'll be traction limited...

And then at an angle to the floor for extra stability.

You might need to make the frame bigger, as it looks like the gears intersect the frame.

Reminds me of this a little bit: https://www.chiefdelphi.com/media/photos/36127

but it looks cool..

*something about only possessing one GEAR at a time*

Definitely too high, if those wheels, and I'm just guessing, have a 10" diameter, not that there is anything about them that makes me think that, just it seems like they might....

This drivebase looks like it's geared to win! Might wanna take it to the dentist to get the teeth checked once in a while. I suggest naming the bot Plastic Gear Solid!

I'm very disappointed that I'm running out of puns about gears...

Each wheel should be direct driven by a CIM, resulting in an amazing 154 feet per second!

Hey comrads!

Here's our team's final design for our first drivetrain ever and its pretty innovative if i say so myself

*snip*
-these four wheels are directly driven by CIMs so we can zip across the field at 154 fps according to JVN Design Calculator

Please clap.
2011 wants their meme back; quite possibly the best thread on CD.

It looks to me like the gears on that drive are independent of each other. Points to the first person who makes a gear drive where one wheel/gear drives the other.

Protip: If you put velcro on the circumference of the wheels, they could also serve as a climbing mechanism.

Put the gears at 45 degrees, direct drive them, and put them on a frame 6axis milled out of solid 7075 billet.
