What your reasoning behind using vision to find gears?
Floor pickup?
I'm just wondering when you'd need it during the game.

Because this is team 900 and they vision track everything, ever, end of story. It is the most beautiful thing ever.

I love this to an extreme, but what happens when you chance across a yellow robot? They happen.

We'll obviously try to pick up yellow robots. Hey, how you doin'?

Anyway, glad to see the 900 programming dress code being enforced. Casual Friday? I think not!

Not only will we be able to detect ties, we will also be able to differentiate between bowties, neckties, and cravats. We are also working on a system to give ties a fashion score between 3 and 15.

So the robot can track and catch the gears that the human players are flinging across the field ofcourse.

We're using a ZED depth camera on the robot this year, so we have distance by default.

How are you legally using this camera? The cost is $449 which is above the $400 single part limit allowed in R11.

Search is your friend:

https://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/s...12&postcount=5

And they have confirmed it is available for the 2017 season:

It's cool though, I'm expecting a lot of questions about the legality of what we're doing this year too. It's a shame Q&A only gives feckless answers.

Hi Marshall,

Have you gotten the chance to use the SF2 Libraries yet?

I'm interested to see what you think.

It finally dawned on me why gear tracking might be very effective in this year's game. Kudos to team 900!

Wouldn't it be a shame if you spend your season doing this strategy just to have the q and a or head ref rule it illegal It is only week 2 and you are already expecting people to question the legality of your plan....

Nope. They chose not to answer the question asked and diverted to the dictionary. I expect zero problems from them and lots of questions from the usual CD crowd.

Besides, we don't need 4 weeks to do a redesign. Just a couple hours.
