Go to Post I said it was called FIRST Robotics and the coolest thing I'd seen that day was a 150lb robot balance with another one on a teeter-tooter and and then score basketballs from 30 feet away. - Siri [more]

The 2017 Tippecanoe Event was my first district event as a competitor, first official Indiana event, first event with a new team...and if you can't guess from all that fuel in the robot, a pretty miserable experience getting whooped by all the gear robots Indiana is getting known for. (The electrical gremlins, unrefined shooter, and non-functioning gear pocket kinda sealed our fate regardless, to be fair.)

But it did accomplish one thing: for the first time in 14 years of working with FRC teams, a team of mine actually completed a climbing task. After it went up, I had to get a selfie with that before we pulled it down! And since my old WAI is five years and two teams ago, it was time for an update before Championship.
