1 inch stroke rule

Does the following rule mean there can’t be any cylinders on our robot with a stroke longer than 1 inch? We currently have a four inch stroke cylinder and I’m concerned it will not be allowed. This was in the motors and actuators section of the manual. In past years, we have used cylinders with longer than one inch stroke.
“Electrical solenoid actuators, no greater than 1 in. (nominal) stroke and rated
electrical input power no greater than 10 watts (W) continuous duty at 12 volts
(VDC)”

The key word there is electrical solenoid actuators. You are describing pneumatic cylinders, which do not have specific restrictions on stroke length.

This refers to electric solenoids, not pneumatic cylinders.

Thank you!

And if anyone is inquiring about the AndyMark electrical linear actuators, they are servos rather that solenoids.
