10-32 Threaded Standoff Stock

Hey all, just wondering if anyone could share their favorite stock to use for 10-32 threaded standoffs. We don’t mind threading it ourselves if need be, just would like to use a cost effective durable stock.

Thanks!

My team has had success with Andymark churro extrusion for standoffs, although the one we used had a 1/4-20 hole drilled and tapped through, not 10-32. There is a churro-lite extrusion, with a 10-24 hole that would be useful but might require re-tapping for 10-32

We looked into that one but were hoping to find something with a bigger OD for a more distributed load.

Does your team have a metal lathe handy? If so, you can choose whatever OD stock you want, and just drill a 25 drill bit hole and tap that. In terms of prefabbed stock, I’ve never seen any stock that is sold that matches the specs you want.

We tend to use mcmaster threaded standoffs if we want to steer clear of making ourselves. Take a look at something like 91125A391 on mcmaster but obviously pick the length you want.

McMaster FTW. Lots of options.

Got a link for a poor chump like myself?

Here I got the link for ya here> ^

I was hoping for standoff stock rather than cut-to-size ones, as they’re rather expensive.

Nothing is more expensive than build season time… but if you want tubing that you can cut to length and tap:

We’ve used that in light-duty applications. Otherwise we just buy the pre-machined standoffs.

The soon to be released 3/8 tube axle will be our go to here.

We ended up buying the Churrolite but for future years we may go with the new Vex 3/8 tube axle.
