Hey, I wrote this for potential candidates for our drive team this year. You can give it to whoever you want on your team, I guess. It’s really up to you. I graded them by number of points wrong rather than number right or by a percentage, but you can do whatever you want again.
There’s 50 questions, with about half being short answer and the other half multiple choice. Our best score (so far) is 9 wrong, and our average is a little less than 17 wrong. You’re not expected to know every answer, but if you do you’re basically crazy good with the rules.
Both the quiz and the answer key are in .docx and .pdf formats.
Woops, that was a leftover mistake from when I made edits to the quiz a few days ago. The correct answer is indeed C. I memorized the answers so I didn’t actually use the answer key besides the first two tests.
If we’re being super technical, I have a few suggestions:
4.) Build Season is 6 weeks and three days long
8.) Both a and d are correct answers; nothing prevents you from manipulating gray totes in auto mode
35.) is wrong, average points are used, not total number of points (Qualification Average)
41.) There is always a dimensional limit on the robot; maximum height cannot exceed 78"
It’s a cool test, but for drive team I think you should focus more on penalties and not just ways you gain points but ways you lose them. This will really help you out at a competition, just knowing the penalties.
