Team 1723 The FIRST Bots of Independence are proud to present our 2019 robot Special Agent Armstrong.
Like many other teams, the weather hit us hard this season. We lost over a week of build meetings including the last six hours of bag day. Despite all that, we’re proud of what we’ve accomplished and wanted to show it off a little . Not pictured are our hatch panel gripper and elevator motors - they were removed to be tested more with the practice bot before our first competition. Please also excuse the unfinished wiring and masonite belly pan. It’s only a placeholder until we can get the final part cut by one of our sponsors. The weather has been hard on them too unfortunately.
The FBI will be competing at the Rock City Regional in week 2 and the Greater Kansas City Regional in week 4. We want to wish good luck to all of the teams competing in Destination: Deep Space.
Thanks! Having that ability was a huge driving force in the design of the robot. We figured if there was going to be cargo all over the field after the end of sandstorm we would try to put it to the best use. The claw is also capable of dropping balls into the cargo ship from the intake side of the robot.
Really liking the bot. Look forward to seeing it in person at Little Rock. Your team truly inspired us last year with the quality of everything you did.
Thank you we really appreciate the kind words. Our whole team has been talking about your robot as well! It looks like it’s your turn to do the inspiring .
Another great machine from Independence, MO! Can not wait for GKC to see it up close in person and in action. Totally feel you on losing a week due to weather, but it seems that you guys are totally on top it (like you guys always are in general). Good look out there!
