My kids are under the impression that if our team came in 3rd, they could shave my head ( an apparent reference to some STUPID comment I made late one exhausting night). Since we lost in the semi-finals of the Langley regionals, I need to know if we came in 3rd or 4th! Where can I get these results? FIRST only has the alliances listed but not match results. Anyone have suggestions?

I don’t know, Tom, not much room to maneuver in that box. Sounds like the thatch is toast. Maybe you could compromise with a Mohawk, shave just one side, the front, the back…? Think of it as an opportunity in team building.

In the past the way the 3rd and 4th place finishers were determined was by points in the semi-finals. If your alliance scored more then the other losing alliance in the semi-finals then you came in 3rd. Hope this helps, and by the way, good luck with your hair.

I was always told that 3rd and 4th place was determined by the results in the finals. If the alliance that defeated you in the semis won in the finals, you take 3rd. If they came in 2nd, you take 4th.
Good luck to your hair.

This is not how it works. Last year at the CA regional, we lost in the semis to the eventual winner and were ranked 4th. Personally, I think the people at FIRST pull the names out of a hat. I haven’t figured out any kind of pattern as of yet.
