Can anyone share with me some information about 2" bore pistons?
Specifically, I’d like to know what type of thread is found on them - both on the end of the housing as well as the rod. We’d like to use this thread to mount the piston to our chassis (rather than the supplied hardware) but I have no idea what type of tap to get, or where I’d even find a tap that large.

**The info on the threads can be found in the “Pneumatic Manual for FIRST 2002 Competition” that was furnished in the kit.
The 2" cylinder uses 1-1/4" - 12 UNF for the mounting points at the nose and pivot end.
The Rod uses 1/2 - 20 UNF.
A 1-1/4" - 12 UNF Tap is expensive. It may be better to bore a clearence hole and use a 1-1/4" - 12 UNF nut.

Read the manual, huh? Novel concept
Thanks Ed. . . I didn’t have a manual handy when I posted, and I knew I’d forget to find out if I didn’t write it down somewhere
Another question, if I may… does anyone know the force we can side-load those pneumatics at before we run into trouble (IE, burst seals, and bend shafts)? I know they really aren’t ment for it, but they ought to be able to take a little… I hope?
Ppage 9-11 of the Pneumatics Manual for cylinder dimensions. see Ed’s earlier post to download the .pdf which is also useful for printing out fax order forms.
You weren’t being a jerk at all, Ed I just felt a bit stupid for not checking with the manual first is all. I feel like I’ve been through it so many times I really should have seen it at one point or another.
