thanks for helping,

If you are just planning on plugging in the usb cable to a computer, this wonât work. Those wires arenât digital input, they only talk USB protocol.
You need to use the FirstTouch to get digital inputs via USB to the driver station.
What exactly are you trying to do? USB cable has nothing to do with switches. USB cable is used to connect your laptop to a USB device. If you are talking about some switches such as the âEmergency Stopâ button from last year, it is not a simple switch. It is a USB HID button device.
The CCI from eStop Robotics is another alternative to receive digital inputs.
The Driver Station software is designed to talk to the First Touch module which has custom firmware on it.
The CCI is custom designed to serve as a simpler alternative to the FirstTouch. The Driver Station isnât designed to talk to the FirstTouch, but rather viceversa, hence the custom firmware that you noted.
Neat,
Have you confused USB with PWM? I suspect you have. If you are using the PWM cable to connect to a digital input on the Digital Side Car, then connect one side of the switch to the black wire of the PWM and the other side of the switch to the white wire. Insulate the red wire so it will not touch anything as it is connected to 5 volts. The switch when open will present a âhighâ to the side car and when closed will present a âlowâ.
