2002 Corporate Funding

I am curious to know how everyone’s corporate funding is going this year? In light of the condition of the economy our funding from our corporate sponsor (my company) is being cut to less than a third of what it was last year, and there was almost nothing any of us could do about it. I would like to hear how other teams funding is fairing? I know we are going to try to seek additional funds elsewhere, re-evaluate our budget, and do some heavy duty fundraising (as if we haven’t done enough!) - how are some of the other teams coping? As for going to nationals, we can’t even consider going due to funding! Anyway, best of luck to all the teams this year! Tough times or not, we’re looking forward to an awesome season!

Yeah. We’re pretty much in the same boat. Our sponsor cut our funding to about 1/4th of what we had last year. We will have to scramble for funding just to meet entry fees and build costs. It’s disappointing, but we’ll survive.

A side question: what are teams doing to meet funding requirements? See my new thread “Funding Options for 2002”

Hey, I’m new to the forums here, but I’m sure I will soon become a frequent visitor. On the subject, though, DuPont is our team’s major sponsor. This year, they announced thier funding plan as a gradual decline after each year which, after five years, will not exist. Yes, this troubles me, but hey it’s their money. Further, a large sum of money was contributed by DuPont to the September 11th Relief Fund, which is of course, a more than worthy cause.

Yeah. Visteon funds our team, but they cut our funding to about 1/5th of what we had last year. Not cool…

AFL is cutting down our funding too. They have paid for regestering of the Great Lakes Regonals, i don’t know what else. That is a big cut from last year (they gave us around $35,000, i think i heard…) For all the ppl that hate my speling, here is my excuse…

I KAN’T SPEL!!!:stuck_out_tongue:
