Is anyone else sad that your robot from 2003 is no longer going to be used anymore? Our robot this year was the best robot our team has ever built. It worked well and had a very sheek look. Everyone on the team loved our robot. But our last off season competition was Ramp Riot on Nov. 15th, so now we can never use this robot in compatition again. We did so well this year compared to our previous years and it was awesome that we finally won something, which happened to be the last competition that we did this year! So our robot went out with a bang, but then it kind of hit me that Ramp Riot was our robots last competition and I find it very sad that we wont be using it anymore :(. Is anyone else sad about that, or am i just weird?
Well, you’re weird anyway…It’s just a natural thing…
But anyway, I’m extremely sad Spicy won’t be competing anymore. He did so well and we’ll probably never design another robot as beautifully ugly as Spicy.
But I’m glad, in a sense, because he was really getting old and crippled. =P
You’re a little odd but not really since I know of a fellow team member who insisted that our one robot, Lil Moe, not be scraped and saved. Good thing too because it became our deminstration bot. Nevertheless…I am glad to see the peice of lime green bot go. In with the new, out with the old. I can’t wait to start building soon.
Yeah, we’re all sad to see Miss Daisy II leave, but hey, we’re getting another Miss Daisy soon… Besides, we use all of our past robots- Tom, Hefty, Daisy I, and Daisy II for demonstrations, along with a souped-up Corvette
We save all our bots but each one is in an ever increasing state of disrepair. We occasionally borrow something liek a breaker ofr RC off some of them. Every now and then we fix them up for a demonstration or something but they just break again. We are really hard on our robots, they deserve to be saved and put to rest.
I probably sound like a heartless nazi.
Before this year we used to save the robots at our lab.
But I forced everyone to scrap them and use them as spare parts and used them on projects. We still have our 2003 robot for demos, but the others were just becoming a waste of motors pnumatics and electronics. I felt sort of bad removing the core pieces of our rookie all star bot, but I think it would rather be doing something than just sitting there getting geriatric on me.
