2005 IRI Music List

i’ve got a list in my head already in the works of stuff to suggest, altough in the past i think that several genres have been completely under represented in the IRI music, maybe my position in IndianaFIRST can help me put some more preasure for some of my favorites to get played:)

And clark, send me the html files jhambright@indianafirst.org
and i’ll see that they make it online.

Is anyone else slightly disturbed at the prospect of a young Chris Fultz bouncing around to a Cyndi Lauper record? arughhhhh…

none moreso than me…i assure you that

of course…what’s even more disturbing is an old chris fultz bouncing around to the same record…on the same record player sitting in our computer room. :ahh:

I am going to have to throw in the annual Wisconsin request.

Cheeseheads with Attitude - Cheesehead Baby

Don’t worry, I’ll bring it for you

If I were Clark, I would charge you a $10 playing fee just to play that song :stuck_out_tongue:

Deep Purple - Smoke on the water
AC/DC - take your pick, theres a lot of songs you can play that will work
Morris Day & The Time - Jungle Love (Ill send you my version…its better then yours)

speaking of, its better then yours, in honor of Andy Baker, play the Milkshake song :stuck_out_tongue:

Metallica - For Whom the Bell Tolls (among other songs you could play)
Steppenwolf - Magic Carpet Ride
Thomas Dolby - Blinded me with science
Quiet Riot - Come on feel the noise

Im sure ill add to this later when I can take a look at my big playlist on my desktop

I’m gonna have to second that request.

Is it just me or does anyone else find it a bit disconcerting that these two fine gentlemen keep referring to “LP’s” and “albums”??!! IRI may have a tough time scrounging up a couple “phonographs” to play their music.

Dave - you always stuck me as a Segway riding, iPod wearing, PSP playing gadget geek kind of guy. Don’t let all these young kids have fun with all this cool technology! Of course, none of them can say that their other car is on Mars!

My music suggestion -

Jamie Brockett - The Legend of the U.S.S. Titanic (EXTREMELY obscure studio demo that is amazing and hilarious all at the same time)

REO Speedwagon (the earlier albums)
Boston
Supertramp
The Clash
Aerosmith
Bad Company
The Allman Brothers
Deep Purple

Hmmmm…can’t wait for IRI to see what the DJ’s come up with!!

Sean

Maybe some selections by Queen, and that Numa Numa song :p?

Numa Numa Yei by O-Zone (I have a “legal” copy if you want it.)

And Sean-

If you need something to plan anything pre-tape I’m sure we could bring our record player (33’s 45’s and another that I can’t remember) or the old 8-track. (My family refuses to throw anything away.)

I was really beginning to like this list all the way through Led Zep, the Beatles, Frampton and Van Halen. But then you stumbled a bit with Boz Scaggs (sorry, there is no place in the known universe where “The Lido Shuffle” and I converge). You recovered nicely with the likes of DEVO and The Doors. But Cindi Lauper was a turn into the mud. “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” should be played after, and only after, you have been through every other option for self-torture available.

OK, here is a start:

Livin’ On The Edge - Aerosmith
Rock Lobster - The B52s
Rock And Roll Ain’t Noise Pollution - AC/DC
Don’t Fear The Reaper - Blue Oyster Cult
Smokin - Boston
Run Through The Jungle - Creedence Clearwater Revival
Walk Of Life - Dire Straights
Slow Ride - Foghat
Truckin’ - Grateful Dead
Crazy On You - Heart
White Wedding - Billy Idol
Take Another Little Piece Of My Heart - Janis Joplin
Lola - The Kinks
The Star Spangled Banner - Jimi Hendrix
Immigrant Song - Led Zeppelin
Let It Roll - Little Feat
Sweet Home Alabama - Lynyrd Skynyrd
Cat Scratch Fever - Ted Nugent
We Are The Champions - Queen
School Days - The Runaways
Closer To The Heart - Rush
Low Rider - Santana
Old Time Rock And Roll - Bob Seger
Born To Run - Bruce Springsteen
Wipeout - The Surfaris
Bang A Gong - T Rex
Bad To The Bone - George Thorogood
Wild Thing - The Troggs
Aqualung - Jethro Tull
You Really Got Me - Van Halen
Squeeze Box - The Who

…and I think I still have “Secret Agent Man” by Johnny Rivers on 8-track somewhere…

Most of these songs I have, here in a few after I take a little break from working I’ll go through and get the ones I don’t and then post when I’ve got them all.

If you’ve listed a specific song so far in this thread I have it. I also have some songs from the people who just listed band names.

EDIT: Here is an excel file with all the songs I have. This doesn’t include songs from the Bizzaro Music List Thread.

Runnin Down A Dream (Tom Petty) - practically a robotics theme song
Another One Bites The Dust (Queen) -

Blinded by the Light - Manfred Mann

Now we are talkin’! Add a few more to the list:

and just to throw in a good one at the end: Harvey The Wonder Hamster - Weird Al Yankovich

We might have the start of a pretty good list here.

MAybe we should change the name to

I.M.I. (Indiana Music Invitational) or maybe “FIRST-stock”.

We could just forget about the robots. This would make an awesome 2 day concert.

I’ll work on getting the few I don’t have tomorrow

According to the people in charge, I suppose this would all be “rubbish” but what would a FIRST event be without songs like:

50 cent - Candy Shop (cleaned of course)
50 cent - Disco Inferno (cleaned of course)
Oceanlab - Satellite
3 Doors Down - Kryptonite
Train - Drops of Jupiter
Black Eyed Peas - Let’s get it started
