The registration is open. http://www.usfirst.org/frc/public/ Please post what competition your team is going to. Our team wants to find out where teams are going.
I’m wondering about the 32 team limit in Isreal. Are they expecting to spawn 20 more teams or is it open to teams outside of Isreal?
is it me or did the Early Registration for atlanta go down, its only at 240 right now. But hopefully everyone that wants to will get down there. And 70 teams at GTR? wow thats big for a regional.
Interesting…already Palmetto has grown a spot. (Last year we had 42 teams. Even without any spots reserved for late-registering rookies, we’re going to get 43. Which I guess breaks 1293’s streak of finishing 27th of 42 there.
)
Scared me for a minute until I took a good hard look at things. From the way it was stated I thought registration had opened and I thought I had seriously missed something. Anyway, now we now approximately how many teams each event will take (except for the Championship)
They had 240 last year. They have room for regional winners and such.
GTR had room for 70 last year. They use 2 fields.
Yeah, they had a lot of teams. 60 something or so I think.
I dont remember 2 fields. But there may have been.
Ohhh all this is getting me excited!!!
70 teams on two fields is nothing.
Try 62 teams on one field every year at VCU (especially past seasons when there were only 4 teams on the field at a time).
Although this year it looks like only 58 slots are available. Maybe a tiny bit less hectic.
The Greater Toronto Regional (ex-Canadian Regional) had one field in 2002, 2003 and 2005, and two in 2004 and presumably 2006.
Don’t forget that regional committees hold back some spots. The number of teams at any given regional will probably be more than we see now.
I’m a little concerned about the fact that Finger Lakes, Buckeye, and Pittsburgh are all the same weekend. That weekend alone there are 370 regional slots, 145 of them within a 3-4 hr radius. It really is a shame since so many Rochester area teams enjoyed going to the Buckeye regional.
Is it me or is the boston regional new this year?
The Boston and Wisconsin Regionals are the new events for the 2006 FRC Competition.
