2006 Pre-Kickoff FF -- IT'S ON!

Well, we discussed it earlier this year. And I think that we’re just crazy enough to actually do it. The idea of a Pre-Kickoff league was based off some long-forgotten discussion about teams and their reputations. Let’s put it to the test.

The league runs just like any other Fantasy FIRST league, with a few modifications:

  1. Any team competing in the 2006 FRC is fair game.
  2. All trading, drafting, and other methods of picking a team cease at 11:59 PM the night before Kickoff.
  3. The score that a team receives will be the average of the scores received at each event, including the Championship.

Unless the 2006 game requires serious revisions to it, the scoring system will be as follows:

Regionals:

(Seeding before selections)
20…1st seed
12…2nd and 3rd seed
6…4th through 8th
3…9th through 12th
2…12th through 16th

4…Quarter finalists
10…Semifinalists
20…Finalists
30…Winners

42…Chairmans
36…Engineering Inspiration Award

15…Rookie All-Star
10…Rooke Inspiration
8…Woodie Flowers

2…Win(s)
-2…Loss(es)
1…Tie(s)
8…Highest score / Highest Rookie Seed

5… Judges Award
2…for every non-placement award, except previously mentioned

For the Championship:

20…1st seed
12…2nd and 3rd seed

3…9th through 12th
2…12th through 16th

We’ll have signups from now until the 17th, with no real limit on entrants.

Who’s game?

As defending champion in 2005’s Championship event FF, I feel it is my duty to sign up for this Mega-FF edition.

I’m in… Anyone else game??

I’m game of course.
The one adjustment id make though…
Selections
picked by first round…points 2nd round
1st…8…4
2nd…7.5…3.5
3rd…7…3
4th…6.5…2.5
5th…6…2
6th…5.5…1.5
7th…5…1
8th…4.5…(.5)

Just look at the sig. (Not the terrible scores in other leagues of course, but the fine red print)

ummm…I’m game!

I’m in.

Fair enough.

As for the number of teams, I’m up for staying with three, unless someone has a moving reason for us to go to four.

Count me in guys.

Me, too!

I think it is time for me to try my luck at FF… I AM IN!!!

wel i can tell you all one thing its probably gunna have to do something with a square or a cube cuz think two years ago it was a sphere or circle (First logo) and last year was a triangle or tetra (first logo) and 3 years ago it was boxes (first logo) so were guessing boxes but we could be terribly wrong. lets just wait and find out ehhh

A list for your drafting/signing up convenience.

w00t for Lucky #7 im feeling good about this FF. i went home with an 8th place finish in the Buckeye FFL last year, im looking to get a couple of wins this year.

I’m in.

  1. Billfred
  2. Elgin Clock
  3. Corey Balint
  4. iCurtis
  5. Greg Needel
  6. Steve Howland
  7. Jay Trzaskos
  8. Lisa Perez
  9. Ted Boucher
  10. Alex Cormier
  11. Matt Kaplan
  12. Holtzman

[Edit] This seems to me like a massive undertaking to score this event… especially with no cap on the amount of participants. These fantasy first drafts often go unscored, and are merely a waste of time for the participants(the IRI Fantasy FIRST draft for example). That being said, I’m still in.

I’m in.

Can I be 14?

  1. Billfred
  2. Elgin Clock
  3. Corey Balint
  4. iCurtis
  5. Greg Needel
  6. Steve Howland
  7. Jay Trzaskos
  8. Lisa Perez
  9. Ted Boucher
  10. Alex Cormier
  11. Matt Kaplan
  12. Holtzman
  13. Steve Horn

Oh and to help out with Holtzman’s suggestion that this would be a massive under taking to score this, it would be a good idea to score this weekly so we get an idea of who is where, and so we don’t have to do it all at once.

[SLIGHTLYOFFTOPIC]

Actually, IFI did get scored, but due to various unfortuneate circumstances it was never posted, but a winner was determined. That being said I’m all for helping score if you want help Billfred.
