Team 1577 Steampunk will be organizing a regional webcast for the 2007 GM/Technion Israeli regional in Tel Aviv.
The regional will have 34 teams, including 13 rookie teams.
It will take place in the Nokia Arena in Tel Aviv (Israel’s biggest basketball stadium).
The regional will be on Mon-Wed next week (26-28 March). The webcast itself will be on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Here is the schedule for the webcast:
Tuesday: 9:00 - 17:30 (local)
2:00 - 10:30 (AM) EST
Wednesday: 9:00 - 16:00 (local)
2:00 - 9:00 (AM) EST
The regional will be held in English, so don’t worry about a language problem.
We will also be archiving the matches (hopefully live) on SOAP108, so if you are unable to watch the webcast (for obvious reasons), you can always watch the matches later.
It looks like it is going to be a very competitive regional (the robots we have seen are very impressive), so if you can find the time to watch it you are guaranteed a good show.
The link will be posted next week on the NASA Regional Webcast Page.
You can write any questions you have here or by PM. We will be using this thread for live feedback during the regional.

behind me are 2 computers that are planning to webcast tomorrow. They were having some problems with the capture today when testing then the team needed to work on their robot. after the matches today they are going to be working on it. Assuming that the webcast does happen it will be on the nasa site in the morning.
The way it looks now, there isn’t going to be any webcast due to technical difficulties which we can’t resolve. We will try to archive the matches and upload them to SOAP.
and… may I say… we kicked some major (rookie and veteran’s teams) butts!!!
we had this one team banging at us hard without stopping… broke our GRIPPER,
“paralized” our baby for a few hours (we also had to find another BANEBOT engine:mad: )
but at the end of the day wer’e happy
P.S, don’t expect any autonomous from us tomorrow, suprisingly, we had serius problems with the cam, hoping to get it fixed by wednesday.
The second day was great. There are a lot of good robots, and it seems that the finals will be loaded with tubes.
Although we couldn’t get the webcast to work, we have high quality recordings of all the matches and awards which we plan to upload to SOAP (we have to reduce the quality on the videos because they are about 120 megs per match).
Currently Miscar 1574 is leading with a 7-0-1 balance and a high score of 94. Hopefully our team will do better tomorrow (we had a lot of technical problems today which made us lose almost all our matches).
