By that means, 399 shouldn’t be heading eastward!
(j/k! I don’t know how they’ve managed to pull that off two years in a row, but they have.)
There’s a way it still can be done (or at least venture East).

Jeez, what about 201 guys, I mean, I know I’m plugging for my own team but the record shows it:
1998 “featherweight” in the finals (GLR)
2000 undefeated champions (GLR)
2002 champions (Buckeye)
2002 Einstein DIV. FINALIST (Champ)
2006 10th ranked (GLR)
2006 GALILEO DIV. CHAMPS (Champ)
Just putting this out there for any interested teams going to the Great Lakes Regional (2007), we (201) got an AWESOME room rate for the competition at a holiday inn in Ann Arbor… about 6 miles away - this place is really nice and the manager is giving really REALLY good room rates, and she asked us if we could spread the word to any teams interested, thanks!:::
—oh yeah, this is going to be the fiercest competition in quite a few years…can’t wait

I am personally SOOOOOO excited to be apart of this regional. Its always a fun one but this year should be great!
court
I cant wait until we get this regional underway, Ive had fun the past 2 years weve been there and im expecting some fierce competition this year. Maybe other teams will have a chance now that the tripletts arnt “ball shooter masters” =)
This year will be my first time attending GLR. I’m excited.
GLR is probably my second favourite event (only to Nats =D) and I can’t wait!! Especially being a senior.
Competitions always fierce (but not harmful), but hey, it’s what we wait for isn’t it?
So… approaching a week before the big regional, anyone have any predictions now that some of the robots’ pictures have been posted?
I look forward to this year’s GLR. Of all the regionals out there, GLR is almost consistently the most competitive. Also, not to offend, but NO TRIPLETS, WOOT!!
Yay for Waterloo regional the greatest little regional ever!!! wooooooott!!
I don’t know how we pulled it off either ;P. Maybe next year we can hit GLR… Who knows.
I don’t want to drag this tooo off-topic, but please. I thought triplet-bashing had died away, but apparently almost a year can’t even make it disappear.
See threads below or just search triplets for much, much more discussion on the topic.
Or maybe I was mistaken and you were just happy that there weren’t three teams of that astonishing calibre present at GLR this year, in which case, I beg to differ. Instead, there’s the many incredible teams listed above. Somehow, I don’t see the difference. 1114 and 1503 will be there again, and are definately in top form, even with different bots. Just imagine, they both let their imaginations run free on seperate robots. It makes me scared for GTR and Waterloo.
On topic again, I wish I was going, another team member and I were thinking of driving down to check it out, but that fell through. I’ll definately be watching the webcast, and will be cheering everyone on from up here. The calibre of the teams is astonishing, and I can’t wait. Good luck!

I apologize for the triplet bashing. I do not agree with the Triplet Challenge, however my comment was out of place. Please forgive me for my arrogance.
It’s all okay, some of us just take the subject a bit too personally.
On a brighter note, 2 more days until GLR!! I (and 226, of course) can’t wait!
I’m at work right now but im dying to know how the practice day is going. Ill be there 1/2 the day tomorrow and all day saturday! im super excited!
IM at work too and the webcast isnt working, BOOOOOOOO, so i am fored to watch Florida since GLR is not working and Pitt doesnt have one. But there are some great scorers at Florida, I believe 179 is Swamp Thing, they can score almost 7-8 each match on the lower spider and deploy there ramp. WOW:D

Where should I go to find the webcast, if it were working?
Here? (where there’s currently no active link for a GLR Webcast) http://robotics.arc.nasa.gov/events/webcasts/regionals_2007.php
Thats where IM going to find the link for the Florida regional, but I think If you want GLR you might want to try there websit for the event tomorrow. The one thru FIRST, Also just try to fish arounf on CD to look for the Wildstang one, since thats who is doing it.
GLR disappeared off the Webcast page I linked earlier
competition was great today. i didnt see many robots though. Hot was very good, with an amazing grabber. I didnt see their lifts work. Mind you i only saw a few matches though. 33 looked cool, and 1549 has crazy treads.
