I think tomorrow we will play defense on 1114 while we’re partnered with them just to even up the odds a bit. You know, help push em into a corner, limit them to maybe 4-5 ringers. Maybe 4 vs. 2 would make it a fairer fight against these guys?

Travis, I would double-dog dare you guys to do that – except for two things: (1) it wouldn’t be fair to make your third alliance partner play 1-on-3 while 48 and 1114 spar in the corner, and (2) stopping 1114 for one match might not significantly effect the overall event results, anyway.

The trick to defending 1114…any strong offensive bot, really…is to defend their entire alliance appropriately, which requires the appropriate partners who are inclined to play the appropriate style of defense with the necessary communication. It can be done; the question is, will it? Tune into the Discovery Channel webcast on Saturday to find out!

I also want to point out to any teams that scouted 1565 in waterloo and deemed them unreliable and highly defendable: They haven’t had a single breakdown, they’ve scored 3-6 ringers consistently in all their matches, and their drivers have gained enough skill to deke out defenders. They would make a good ‘diamond in the rough’ pick that would be overlooked by other teams going by ranking.
Edit: Come to think of it, any scouts out there probably won’t be on CD until tonight, when it’s all over. …

On a webcast-y note, I’m finding that the pre-taped interviews in the pits are having no sound. Or the sound is so ridiculously quiet that I can’t hear it when I have the volume set right for the matches.
I have made them aware. It seems that they might have a hardware issue and are now working on it.
