hey im from 1302
does anyone have clips from the elimination rounds and finals?
my team’s tryin to collect media stuff for our sponsors and people who weren’t at the competition from our team
thanks in advance
So if everyone could go ahead and NOT watch the video entitled Intermission I’d be very grateful…my dancing skills in that clip are pretty atrocious.
But, but, the somersault…and…
OMG, It’s Libby Kamen!!!
Mmmmmm… now I must watch and savor the moments!

(BTW- nice job with co-emcee)
thanks for the link!
Like George said…DON’T watch that, thanks.
Not my fault Wayne dragged me out there.
No, literally, DRAGGED me. Anyone who was there knows what I’m talking about.
the only bad part is the camera angle. The view of your flip was much better from where MORT was sitting
Thanks to both you and Libby for being such great sports:)
Perhaps next years NJ FLL can have a flip and dancing? hint hint
The things I do to entertain the crowd…I hope everyone enjoyed themselves…I know I did.
George, you know we all appreciate you.
You and Wayne put on an AMAZING weekend. It was hands down, the best New York City regional I’ve been too, and for that…
I salute you! salutes

I have to admit that NYC was better than I thought, but George, did you like announcing at the NYC regional of the NJ regional more? I personally liked NJ because it has a greater crowd capacity. That was the one thing that the Javitz lacked. I have to admit that the extra space everywhere was really convininent, especially in the pits where you could spill over the back boundary and into the isle.
Another question for you George. When did you discover that you had a talent for announcing? You have the perfect voice for it and i was just wondering how you have become the voice of NJ (and NY)?
hey dhoizner, I was just on another thread about unusual ways of accepting an alliance selection besides " Team (Your name Here) graciosly accepts." and then I remembered that you said something unusual at the NYC alliance selections. What was it? (possibly a Borat quote)?
Well It’s good to know I have at least a couple fans out there. I really do feed off the crowd to try to make the matches exciting. As far as which regional I like more? Hard to say, NJ has always had a place in my heart since It’s my “home regional” and in the past NYC has been seriously lacking in the spirit department. So this year I’ll admit, I was a little apprehensive when I went into NYC because in the past it was just so hard to get excited when the kids themselves weren’t excited.
This year changed all that and I have a new found love for NYC FRC. Next year, if NYC grows like they’re hoping…things should be really interesting.

Here is the draft and acceptance between teams 56 and 375 at the 2007 NYC regional:
Robbe Extreme: Team 56 would like to get ill with the Robotic Plague, team 375.
Robotic Plague: Jersey’s in the house! HIGH FIVE
Nice…
Yet another interesting question. Ever since my first FIRST competition (VCU in 2001) I’ve wanted to be an announcer, so in 2004 (my senior year) after the Championships I asked a couple people at PARC if I could announce a few matches. They let me, and I found out I had a knack for it. After that I started bugging everyone hosting an offseason competition in the area if I could announcer. Eventually more and more people let me do it, and I signed up to be a Game Announcer at the NJ regional in 2005. I was slated to be the 2nd back up (there was a Game Announcer, then his backup, then I backed up the back up.) They don’t let first years announce the whole shebang so I was hoping for 2 or 3 matches tops. As luck would have it neither of the two people ahead of me couldn’t make the event. So I got the mic thrust into my hands with a “good luck, don’t screw up too much”. I did it and as it turns out I did a good job I guess. At the end Big Mike dubbed me the “Voice of New Jersey” Randy Shaeffer overheard that and Introduced me as such. Ever since then I’ve added each state I’ve worked in and Tony Paxton (Volunteer coordinator for NYC) asked if I’d do NYC the following week. I agreed and I’ve been working various regionals ever since.
George,
You rock. You are always ready to pick up after the end of my mic calls and you make the matches that much more exciting. I’m really glad and honored to be working with the Voice of NJ at multiple regionals this year!!!

Our mentor, Mike Vilarelle has been a GREAT announcer over the years!
He was suppose to do it this year but instead he coached us.
He’s the best
He helped us get the GOLD!
+Great job George and Wayne =]
I dissappear for a couple of days and return back only to find the Video link to the intermission. And of course I just had too watch it. Again and again. I look like a dork towards the end of the clip (except those who know me I bet you can’t figure out which person is me.) Just think Libby - If you haden’t gone through with this Andrew would have done it and then he would’ve dragged me into it. Thank you for being the sacrificial lamb =) j/k. Besides you didn’t look that bad in the video as a matter of fact I think you and George did great with the whole dancing thing.
One question I do have is where did Wayne come up with that Dance Routine?
