wow today was just crazy we popped about 6 tubes, i threw one on the rack :yikes: and then drifted down a mountain on the way home

A big **THANK YOU!!! **to Teams 334, 375, 694 for playing NYC FRC Tour Guides to all the FLL teams and schools that visited the NYC Regional today.

I have received comments like “Amazing! I want to do this in High School too!”

Your all have become FIRST Mentors!

Today was crazy! :ahh: :yikes:

Our rookie team #2070 was soo amazed when they saw the whole arena…It was pretty neat…Ah, the weather just made it quite difficult to get there and you know the usual. But, overall, meeting the teams, preparing for game, and fixing the robot was FUN!

All I could say is …GO ROBOTICS!!!:]

It’s not a life saving device though! :stuck_out_tongue:

I had a blast today, and I can’t wait to see all the robots running on the field tomorrow.

Woot Woot team1228 is in the house looking forward to seeing you guys there.

how did the bronx team do, team 1155, our finalist partner in NJ?

Any comments on the Team Cafe area?
The Pit area? The public Cafe area?
And Job fair starts tomorrow!
:yikes:

I think I’ll be making my way up to The City tomorrow with my grandfather, it depends on the weather a bit I suppose, but as it stands now I have a good shot on getting there. I hope to see some great action at the Javits Center, its a great venue and my Grandfather not only helped build it, but he also helped set up the trade shows that came in all the time. I wonder what his thoughts would be on setting a regional up…Anyway I hope to see some great action from one of the fastest growing regionals.

We did great in practice, our arm is finally working. We even managed to throw a ringer directly onto the middle row:). Tommorrow starts qualifiers, here’s hoping for a repeat.

Good luck to you folks and I am working with some members of your team to help you get to Hawaii next year, where we are currently relaxing in the HOT sun! We leave next weekend for our next regional…Good luck you folks!

I came up to the city today with one of my friends so you can expect to see me rockin the orange and blue on saturday and sunday.

After being at the Riverbank last year, wish I could be there to see what it’s like at the larger venue this year. Just been on the NYC FIRST website and seen a few of the days matches from the archive linked there

I’m keeping an eye out. Naturally, I have to cheer on my old team too (come on 759!)

A friend from across the pond,

Jay

NASA Webcast is a beautiful thing-

I am watching of course, while keeping an eye on the Six Nations Rugby too… technical fault I guess meant I missed the first 759 match of the day as the feed crashed though :frowning:

“There will be no flux capacitors available at the New York City regional”

This has to be one of the best quotes I’ve heard in a long time, great job staten island

I have some pictures from the NYC Regional on setup day and let me tell you there is plenty of room all around. Everything is safely spaced from one another and you don’t feel as if your crowded in anyway. There are “RUMORS” that in '08 there may be 2 fields with a bit more teams on register (hopefully if this years event ends successfully), possibly a FLL or FVC competition as well. As of right now we are using a “BRAND NEW” field straight out of NH which means we had little to no bugs in setting up the field and running our 1st. day of Qualifying Rounds.

Congrads to all the teams who won their well deserved and hard earned awards on the first day of competing and I hope to see an even better day of qualifying on sunday.

The top score as of right now in NYC is 260, lets see if we can beat it in NYC Regional and all around the globe.
