I’m guessing this poll may be slightly deceiving or skewed. We’ll see a lot more racers than participated in this poll, because the newer teams who haven’t really learned about chief delphi quite as much are the ones that will be going with the simple designs.
Agreed on your point. I am a first time poller on CD and linking a second question to confirm the rookie factor did not appear to be easy because of the way the poll format works here. I had considered allowing the multiple answers format and adding 3 more choices for
rookie,
end game (ball on overpass) and
start of game (ball knockoff).
I was not sure on how CD would present the stats with a multi answer poll and if it would then be possible to classify the responses into rookie and non rookie., etc. i.e. Would CD show all combinations of responses or just % of total clicks? A more sophisticated polling tool would be nice.
In terms of your original point, I suppose it might be a fair to increase the variance estimate on the RACER responses by the % of rookie teams this year.
Also, I bet we’re seeing more hurdlers than there are going to be because even though teams are going for hurdling capabilities, they might not finish them in time, or their design might not be successful.
Per , the last post. I limited this poll to only one week of response and will poll again at week 6 to see if any “week 2 hurdlers” have changed to an alternative strategy.
