But as noted, still no numbers.
thanks everyone
If I’m seeing this correctly it looks like the pits are layed out different than than they have been in the past.
It appears there are more “columns” now instead of long rows.
Is it me or does it seem like there’s less walking room than the last 3 years, particularly around the inspection stations? Must mean there’s more to do and see
yeah. to me it seems like archimedes has moved. Last year wasn’t archimedes in the place that curie is in now?
Last season, the size of the pits was diminished to accomodate damage to the facility from that tornado and, one assumes, because the World Congress Center was trying to rebook and accomodate as many of their bookings as possible.
This year, it appears as if we’re stuffed back into the same small space; maybe FIRST knows something about the weather that we don’t.
Or maybe they realized it worked in a small space, so maybe they could save $$ on a small one again this year? I don’t agree with it, but I could see the logic.
:ahh:
edit — it’s 2:42 … I’m determined to wait for the :47 mark…durn raffle tickets…
Definitely a tighter squeeze for FRC than last year as rows have been turned 90 degrees elongated and confined to hall closest to the dome and less room around the practice fields too…expect more shouts of “ROBOT COMING”!
…which, upon closer inspection, have columns right in the middle of the field? Really?
Last year they were setting up for a car show on Friday for the weekend.
Maybe that’s why the bumper rules are so ridiculous this year…
I have to admit, very strange layout. I’m used to the practice fields being on either side in a row rather than a column. It looks as if we’re gonna be packed in there. And unfortunately for us, Newton is the farthest away this year.
Upon further review …the family is back together… see below for the big map.
FLL and FTC are right next to us AND FLL judging is just down the hall (not in another bldg like last year.)

Now let’s have some fun… as if we wouldn’t no matter what the circumstances…
I can’t wait…
Newton will be closer once inside the dome, and Archimedes will be farther away. It’s their way of making things fair.
It looks like they are in the same room.
The FTC pits seem to begin where the car show did last year.
The map appears to be cutoff, so I imagine FLL can’t be too far away either.
I heard FIRST tested this year’s field in their basement and had the columns going through the regolith. Maybe we’ll be reusing those original practice fields. Waste not, want not.
