Hey CD,

The one labeled DaVinci is FTC. FLL is on Einstein on Thursday and Friday I believe.
Thank you for clairifying that it is FTC like I said I was unsure
Since when are the seats red? It’s about time they changed them to falcon colors.
It’s pretty boring so far lol, but I wouldn’t mind being there.
One of these years I will make it back, whether it be as a team member or volunteer.
Can’t wait for the action to start tomorrow, even though it is only practice day.
Is the webcast even working right now? I can see they have the fields set up, but every time I try to open the link it just doesnt work.
I just pulled up Archimedes and it seems to be working fine. Not much to see though, just some people wandering around in the background, probably finishing setup stuff
I lost video from Galileo about 30 seconds into the first practice match, but still get audio). The other fields still seem fine.
Edit: came back about 10 minutes later.
And just in time, too. It came back JUST as my team’s first practice was starting.
Ok, normally I don’t share really off topic things, but I just had a major wow moment. Just for fun, I typed the address for the curie webcast into my HTC touch pro’s windows media player url box…
Dude, its playing. Live. I can’t believe science and engineering has come this far.

On this subject, it there a practice schedule online somwhere? I’d like to watch my team if possible.
i’ve been watching the FLL and FTC matches its pretty cool seeing the little kids with their robots (FLL).
O and someone stole a puck from a FTC field  . lol
Not that I found. I just had my team text me our practice times.
I’m trying to watch the webcast on a Macbook, and I am having troubles watching it. It opens it in the Firefox window, but the display is pretty small and then at times it restarts itself and isn’t live anymore.
Last year I was able to pic the “Real Media Player” option but they don’t show that this year.
Any help would be REALLY appreciated!
Thanks!
I’m watching on a Macbook as well. When I clicked the link to the Curie field, it opened up in safari with a cheeze-it size screen. It was live, though. In order to make sure it works properly, you probably will need flip4mac since it’s a Windows Media Stream. If you don’t have that plugin yet, you can get it at http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/wmcomponents.mspx.
The way I bypassed my browser was by right clicking on “windows media stream” and copying the link. Then, I opened up VLC media player (also free download http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-macosx.html), went to open network, then pasted the link into the media resource locator (MRL). It opens right up in a window where you can change the window size and what not.
There may be easier ways of doing this, but this was the best I could figure. Now I just need a way to watch this on my iPhone!
Is anyone else frustrated by the score bar covering the bottom half of the field and not being nearly transparent enough? I’m watching Archimedes, and am questioning why they can’t just tilt the camera down a bit, as there is a bunch of vertical room. Right now, the score bar is just kind of hovering, with extra space at the bottom of the screen not covered by it. I hope this is fixed by tomorrow.
Not nearly as frustrated as I am over the camera work.
Can we PLEASE keep the camera angle wide enough to see the majority of the field? I was trying to watch a robot in a practice, and instead I saw 0:10 worth of closeup of a Purdue logo and another 0:20 worth of closeup of a team’s electronics board. Who cares!?! I want to see how a match is developing or how a robot is performing, not how pretty someone’s decorations are.
I wish I knew who I could send suggestions to, and I know this isn’t the first time that this has been a complaint.
I’m not one to complain but the audio on Archimedes is just horrible, it’s all distorted.
I just need the webcast to last me for today and tomorrow. I should be there in person on Saturday
Install Flip4Mac and I’d use Safari over Firefox. Or you could just use Quicktime to stream from a url. The video is supposed to be small. That’s the resolution of the stream :(.
I have updated Gameday with the webcasts. I still have some work to do to make sure the team list and scores work properly. Hopefully I can knock this out tonight at the hotel. I’m by myself this year down on the floor setting things up so I can’t promise that I can work everything out today. I will do my best.
