Hey I have a question about the 2010 Image Demo. Do you need to have a gyro in order for it to work? Also, the camera is hooked up but doesn’t show on the driver station. Is this normal?
I believe the Gyro is only necessary in Autonomous. If you don’t have it hooked up, then your direction will always be 0.
The camera image should show up on the Dashboard if it is hooked up and correctly configured. There are instructions for camera configuration on page 58 of Chapter 2 of the Control System Manuals at http://usfirst.org/frccontrolsystem.
I have a problem, when I type in the cameras ip, it asks me to log in. I type root for the username and pass for the password but it doesn’t accept it. When I enter the username and password it looks like it refreshes. Any ideas?
What web browser are you using? Early last year I discovered that Safari wouldn’t work to log in to the camera, giving the “refresh” you describe. Someone else tried Firefox without success, but I think he was confused about what the password was supposed to be, so I can’t say whether it was actually failing the way Safari did.
Internet Explorer worked correctly.
I followed all the instructions and this time used internet explorer and everything looked like it worked but we are still not seeing a camera image in the driver station. We can see the camera image when attempting to modify though.
Is the ring of light on the camera green when the robot is running?
also fyi the camera takes much longer to boot than the rest of the robot, so the images starting will be slightly delayed
Are you saying that the Dashboard shows the camera image when run as a VI, but not when run as an .exe?
The camera light is green but on the dashboard, the camera image is white.
Could you take a screenshot?
If it’s that dimpled texture, then that means it’s not getting an image. If it’s actually solid white, then that means the image it’s receiving is all white, which is a strange image indeed.
Here is a screenshot.

How come your Dashboard is broken?
If you look in the top right corner just above the actual dashboard, you will see an arrow. When the arrow is broken like it is in your picture, it means something isn’t wired right on the block diagram. That’s probably why you aren’t getting a picture.
Sorry, I posted the dashboard of another driver station on a different computer because the programming laptop was not accessible. Here is the real print screen. Also, we are programming in windriver.

Here is the print screen of the configuration. Here, we have an image.

Since you can connect to the http server on the camera and see that it works there, switch to the config pages and look at the user accounts and settings. In particular, see that the camera has an account with user name of “FRC” with same for password. This is normally done by the Camera Configuration, but can also be done by hand.

We just managed to get it working by messing around in the configurations. We don’t really know how we did it but we did.
