2011 KOP

Hi Everyone!
So, with the start of Logomotion, the 2011 game, I’m sure many of us are excited to get designing.
This usually begins with CAD, at least for us.

Does anyone know when the Autodesk Students community might be putting up the 2011 KOP for download??

Thanks!!

Yes, when and where can I download the 2011 KOP models? We are ready to start prototyping!

If you can import PRO/E files PTC has the KOP and Field up

http://www.catalogds.com/db/service?d=first&c=browse

The thing labeled FTC 2011 KOP is labeled as FRC when you download it, and the image shows FRC stuff.

Is there an easy way to import those files into inventor?

Oh, I hadn’t understood about the goof with the FRC title instead of FTC, thank you!

Are these parts as high a quality as those we would get from autodesk?

Would anyone be willing to export the KOP and FOP files as IGES files. We are using SolidWorks 2010 and we are unable to import the ProE files.

Thanks

I could use some ipt and iam files. Anyone?

All of the files have a .2 extension. Are they a zip or something I need to remove?

Just delete .2 I think. It’s part of pro-e’s version control.

Most of the parts found in the KOP can be downloaded from http://team1323.com/cad/index.html

These are the file I want but I need somebody who has ProE to open them up and save them as IGES files. Would anybody be willing to do that for me? I would like th KOP and the field models.

Thanks

I too have been unable to successfully import the pro-e models. They’re making SolidWorks act REALLY weird.

The 2011 Autodesk KOP is out! But, I can’t open them because they are from a newer version of Inventor… is anyone else having this problem?

what’s the link for it?

Here you go! http://students.autodesk.com/?nd=kitofparts_view

Just pull the year bar to 2011.

I’m currently downloading AutoCAD Inventor 2011 in the hope that it will let me open the new parts. Gotta prototype!

Does anyone have a list of the difference between the 2010kop and 2011kop?
Many of these suppliers are SolidWorks customers. I will be happy to contact them and see if I can get the model files in some format that are unique to 2011. That way if I put them in 3dcontentcentral anyone can use them no matter what cad software you use or what version - we go back pretty far in history with neutral file formats.

We have the 2010 Kop posted in www.3dcontentcentral.com

You can download them in IGES, STEP, dwg and previous versions of ProE and Inventor. I know some teams dont upgrade every year. This might help
2009 and 2010 are posted on 3dcontentcentral.

Before you upgrade to any software be certain to check your graphics card drivers. This can be an issue.

This link should take you directly to the cad files for 2011 game:

Hi Machine,
I understand from RC that the Banebot P60 motor is a very important model.
I posted it on http://blogs.solidworks.com/teacher/2011/01/banebot-p60-motor-solidworks-file-and-madtown-robotics-cad-library.html

and also how to get this in 3DContentCentral.com

Madtown’s CAD team is trying to get as many parts up in SolidWorks or neutral file formats as fast as they can. Please let me know if there is some model you need right away.

I have posted a 2010 FRC KOP training robot to help learn how to create a 3D Robot assembly in SolidWorks. Many of these parts are in the 2011 KOP. I am still trying to get more components from the original vendors. But this will help get you started.

Since I was having the hardest time getting the Banebot motor models imported into SolidWorks (and particularly could not find the 775 model anywhere else), I was able to open and save them to .step files in the CAD lab at my school. Here they are if you’re interested.

Edit: I just checked the shaft dimension of the 775 model, and it seems that the 550 and 775 models from the PTC KOP are exactly the same, and the 775 motor model is missing in the Inventor KOP… :-/
