With the latest week of events coming to a close, I thought it might be a good time to look ahead to the next wave of events. The 2011 Autodesk Oregon Regional will begin on Wednesday as teams set up their pits and then practice matches start on Thursday.
Team 1540, The Flaming Chickens, have made a special promo video for this event:
Hilarious video as always, loved it! The 217 reference was great. When I think of teams from regionals I attended over the past four years, as soon as I hear the word autonomous, I chant “Chicken”. The 2008 Trackball smash was brilliant…
1540 is just an awesome team, great support, great spirit, great robots.
I am glad that we have a great autonomous this year which works every time. I look forward to playing with/against you as always, bring your A-game (Autonomous), because we’re ready to flame some chickens
Update your classmate software before you arrive: Driver Station: 02.27.11.00
Update the cRIO firmware to v28 first thing Thursday morning. Come prepared with the updated software.
Get the D-Link radio WPA key done early.
Make sure that the D-Link is powered by the 12V-5V convertor, which in turn is powered though the dedicated 12V supply on the PD. (Not through the 12V breakers). This makes a huge difference on the field. Use the right angle power connector that came with the D-Link. Loss of power to the D-Link will halt you for 60sec or more on the field.
I was looking around trying to find the qualification schedule for Oregon so that I know when we are playing (I need to tell my family). I found this link but there is nothing in it. The page that directed me to it said the link should go live sometime today, and I don’t know if this is “live”, but when can I expect the qualification schedule to be on the site? Thanks.
was there going to be a webcast/archive of the event? i know 360 has done it in the past but i haven’t heard anything about this year. if there was one and someone could post the link that’d be nice
I think the same people did the Seattle regionals and I don’t think there was a video stream for the practice rounds in Seattle. Despite what the stream schedule said then and says now.
In seattle, we had sound issues so it was “recording” but not streaming online. It should have been visible from mid-day to the end.
For Portland, we were a little short staffed. It should be available right away at 9 tomorrow morning, as posted.
Sorry for the delay.
Yep, the archive is instantaneous, just like seattle. When a match ends (the score is announced is when we consider it “ended”) go to “Watch Archived Matches” and click “refresh list” to see all the played matches / ceremonies.
These elimination rounds were some of the hardest I’ve coached in 13 years. There were so many alliances that could’ve won the event, but in the end, only one made it there. Tremendous congratulations to teams 2471, 360, and 3711 on your win.
