I’m excited to see the animations submitted for the 2012 season, but I’m not sure where to start looking! Thus, I thought that it would be good to have a thread listing the animations submitted for the 2012 season.
Here’s ours, based off a ridiculous idea we got early on in the brainstorming. I found it entertaining, so I went with it!
I kind of ran right up to the time limit and had to cut the first sections short…
I should also mention freeplaymusic.com, who I forgot to put in the credits as the source of the music.
The animations thus far have been great! You can tell that many teams put the extra time provided this year to good use
My team’s animation can be seen here: Link!… But we kind of ended up backing ourselves into a wall and not having enough time to polish everything to our standards. We will probably be making a ‘directors cut’ soon.
Also, I’ve been combing through YouTube for the past few days and looking for the animations to compile into a playlist. I think that I have most of the animations currently uploaded on said playlist, but if I’m missing one please tell me! The playlist is located here.
Also, good job(s) 1884 and 1986! They both look really good
Great work so far everyone! We used the software on a couple of projects last year and this fall and did fine but felt that we needed a better grounding in animation fundamentals so we went “old school” this year. We got some animation texts and combined good ol’ pencil and paper with 3DS Max. The only thing we didn’t have time to get to was “coloring” our 200 - 300 pages of paper animation  .
Here is Team 111’s animation. I must admit that the extra time was very much appreciated. The students have a better handle on the software then they did last year and we spent an extra week on brainstorming/ storyboarding.
This is my first year being an animation lead on an FRC team, so this was a huge learning experience. Figuring out how to teach people and direct and all that good community-learning stuff was exhausting, but educational as well. It was a pretty hectic adventure seeing as we didn’t really have a mentor per-se, but here’s the final product!
I hope to make something even better next year! Good job everybody else, they look Amazing.
