2012 MN 10,000 Lakes | North Star Regionals

This year looks like another great year for robotics in Minnesota.

Link to the official website of the regionals

61 teams are registered for 10,000 Lakes.
63 teams are registered for North Star.

North Star welcomes WildStang to Minnesota this year.

I hope to see you there!

Neat this year that Duluth was full BEFORE the twin events in the Twin Cities.

I wonder how many other states have competitions the exact same time just across the street from each other? Walk across the street during a long pit time and see another 60 robots and teams!

Troy

Washington has two competitions in the same building together (the Seattle Olympic and Cascade Regionals). Each Regional only has 50 teams, but there is a huge, shared Pit area.

This will be 111’s first time competing up north, to my knowledge.
Minneapolis truly is a great city. Despite Midwest and North Star taking up respective weekends of our district’s spring break, it should be a great experience.

See you all in March!

Al and Dottie have come up (maybe even every year), but the whole team has not.

If the team goes, this will be our fourth time up there I think. We went up for the rookie event to help out. Dottie and I are planning another event and it may turn out to be Duluth. Time will tell.
Al

I’m definitely going to have to try to get a chance to get across the street at some point this year to see what Wildstang can do in person. We are looking forward to competing with everyone at 10000 Lakes though.

PM me with missing robots.

Only a little over 4 days until the chaos!

If possible, my team would like to borrow a battery beak at north star to test our batteries’ condition.

2175 The Fighting Calculators plan to provide both webcasts at their website

Can’t wait for Thursday!

Do you know if anyone plans on recording matches for youtube/tba?
The recordings for previous years has been nonexistent…

Note to all North Star competing teams if you require data for alliance selections
due to lack of a scouting team. Please feel free to ask me and I will gladly share our accumulated data. If there are any teams who have some questions or need some feedback for scouting feel free to talk to me at North Star.

2175 will also be at North Star offering their beak to check other teams’ batteries. Just stop by our pit and someone can help you out.

We have posted the video for North Star to the Blue Alliance every year so far, and I wouldn’t think the plan would be any different this year (I’m not involved in the webcast really). I’m not sure why none of the 10k lakes video is up (I’m not even sure that we ran that webcast in previous years).

Attention any team attending 10,000 lakes:We recently had a member misplace our labview usb disk and are in desperate need of one to install it on a new computer we are getting before the competition. This is for the computer we are using as a driver station. Is there any that would be able to loan it to us? We need it ASAP! We also know our key so that wont be an issue. Thanks!

I have one in Rochester so not really convenient to get it to you… if you don’t find one before then, I’ll have LabView disk image on an external hard drive that you can use – I’ll be inspecting wearing a yellow hat. Stop by pit 2530 or the Inspection station and have someone find me if you are still wanting by Thursday morning.

Teams at north star, follow @northstarpits on twitter to recieve queue times.

We may share our scouting files at north star to teams.

Thanks (already?) go to 2175 for use of their batterybeak and 171 for helping us, and congratulations go to 4260 for a great rookie day.

111’s going to be a force come elims.

A big THANK YOU to all the teams at North Star. You all did a great job getting through inspection and helping those teams that needed it get ready for inspection. Tomorrow should be a great day!

For teams at 10k Lakes it is, follow @10klakespit

We were not in charge of web casting 10K lakes in 2011.

We will be archiving both events this year and putting them up on TBA as soon as possible after the event.
