2013 Dream Matchup

I haven’t seen one of these threads yet for 2013, so I guess I’ll start it. What is your dream matchup of six robots for Ultimate Ascent?

Mine: 67, 2056, 3476 vs 469, 610, 1114

254-1310-67 vs 1986-469-1114

Both alliances have 2 7 disk autos, both also have centreline autos (that’ll be fun), both have two 30 point climbers, and both have a 20 point dump.

254-148-987 v. 469-67-1986

Both alliances have the ability to go double full court, both have 9-disc autos (but 987 gets the center discs, giving them a 12 point advantage), both have an inside and outside climb, but 148’s is only for 20, so the 67 alliance gets a 10-point advantage.

I don’t know who would win this. This would be freakin’ amazing.

1114-2056-1334 vs. 33-1986-67
or
254-1986-1114 vs. 33-469-1538

Greater Toronto Vs. Greater Kansas City
2056-1114-610 vs. 1986-1806-3528
Alliance OPRs based on Champs: 205-188

Most likely both alliance drain their feeder station, and then it comes down to teams either stealing missed shots of their opponents, or climbing/denying climbs.

Which greater is greater?

FIM vs. Canada
33, 67, 469 vs 1114, 1310, 2056 (or swap 1310 for 610).

Personally I would love to see 1986-987-1114 vs 254-2056-67.

Both alliances have:

  • 7 disk autons
  • Full court shooters
  • Multiple robots that can climb to 30
  • A robot that can dump for 20

and of course all of them are extremely good cyclers.

As much as I enjoyed 148’s breathtaking climb, it removes the real estate in the volume inside the pyramid, rendering 254’s climb improbable.
Although both of them scaling the pyramid together would be worth the price of admission. Will this happen at IRI?

The center of gravity of these alliances appears to be somewhere near the Great Lakes.

I think they’d arrange it so it would work. 148 climbs first, then 254.

And the COG I think would be more Southwest- due to 148-TX, 254-CA, 987- Vegas. Somewhere around Nebraska or Kansas.

3467, 254, 2056 vs. 1114, 67,195

As much as I love NE represented on both alliances, you have two inside climbers on one side and two full courts on the other.

That WOULD be a cool match to watch, but one side would end up with no floor pickup, and the other side with a wasted 30 pt. climb.

We could see that in Quals at IRI, but not likely in elims.

Now this, would be an epic matchup!

3467, 67, 2056 vs 254, 1114, 469

Each alliance has: two 30 point climbers (and all sub 15 secs), one 4 disc dump, one full court shooter, one extremely fast ground pickup + floor sweeper, and one 7 disc autonomous (one alliance also gets a centerline auto).

Six robots no one has ever heard of playing the finals on Einstein field.

That’s my dream matchup.

+1

I VOLUNTEER AS A TRIBUTE!

Thanks to everyone who put 610 in their choices but we aren’t that exciting :p. My dream match-up would be 254, 469, and 1114 vs. 67, 987, and 2056.

Aside: Writing this post and being forced to choose between my favorite robots made me realize how many AWESOME teams are out there!

My dream match up would be 67, 254, and 469 vs 1114, 1986, and 33. Both alliances have a 7 disc auto + center line auto, 1 30 point corner climber + 20 point dump, 1 30 point inside climber, sweeping the floor, and lots and lots of cycling.

The only thing I might change would be swapping 33 out for another robot with a wicked floor pickup and center line auto which could shoot full court. If these two alliances went against each other I wouldn’t be surprised if there wasn’t a disc left on the field.

I believe you’re looking for 987.

Pretty sure I have seen one of those around;)

Anything with 987 and 2056, highest OPR in the world against the highest rank robot in the world. Also a bunch of 30 point climbers for added entertainment value.
